Five passengers from a taxi were taken to hospital after an accident involving the vehicle and a truck occurred along the Solomon Hochoy Highway on Monday afternoon.
The collision happened around 2.30 p.m. under the Union Road overpass, near the Gasparillo flyover. An eyewitness said that the driver of the white Hyundai H1 stopped on the shoulder to drop off a passenger when the right side of the vehicle was struck by the truck. The truck then veered to the right and overturned on the safety barriers along the median.
While there were no fatalities, at least one of the occupants of the taxi sustained serious injuries. All five passengers were taken via ambulance to the San Fernando General Hospital.
