Forty-five-year-old Mitra Mohabir, a mechanic of Backstreet Affiance Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), was on Wednesday granted $800,000 bail for causing the death of a construction worker back in June.
Police stated that on June 27, 2026, Mohabir drove a motor car bearing registration number PAM 8929 in a dangerous manner, thereby causing the death of Satesh Persaud, who was at the time riding a motorcycle, CM 2631.
The accident occurred along the Reliance Public Road, Essequibo Coast. Mohabir appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and was initially not required to plead to the indictment.
