The Government of Trinidad and Tobago is wary of “fake news” being carried by international news outlets and will not substantiate or respond to any reports unless they are based on facts and come from official sources of information.
This was the response from a top Government official yesterday when asked about a CNN report citing a source saying the United Kingdom is no longer sharing intelligence with the US about suspected drug-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean because it does not want to be complicit in US military strikes, and believes the attacks are illegal.
The CNN report is based on information obtained from “sources”.
