Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is welcoming the United States’ continued assistance and is unbothered by the Venezuelan government’s immediate termination of any energy ties with Trinidad and Tobago.
There were two significant developments yesterday in the ongoing escalation of United States pressure on Venezuela in its efforts against narco-trafficking and the sanction-busting of illegal oil bunkering.
The first was a media release issued by the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, which stated that, in keeping with established bilateral cooperation, the ministry has granted approval for United States military aircraft to transit Trinidad and Tobago’s airports in the coming weeks.
