As police continue their drug eradication exercise along the Berbice River, an operation on Sunday at Gaetroy Savannah, Upper Berbice River, has led to the destruction of over $11 million worth of marijuana.
Police stated that three farms with a combined area of approximately five acres were located, on which approximately 35,000 cannabis plants ranging from two inches to five feet in height were discovered during the nine-hour-long exercise.
In addition, one makeshift camp was also discovered. The cannabis plants were uprooted and destroyed by fire, along with the makeshift camp.
