Hustlers at the Beetham Landfill say they have no objection to the Government’s proposal to transform the “dump” into a separation facility—but they want assurances that they will be first in line for jobs.
A separation facility would involve the sorting of plastics and other recyclable materials.
The men were responding to the disclosure by Environmental Management Authority (EMA) CEO Dr Joth Singh that discussions were under way to relocate the Beetham Landfill within two years.
