MINISTER of Tertiary Education and Skills Training Prof Prakash Persad says a date for the opening of The University of the West Indies (The UWI) South Debe Campus will be announced by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

While the minister did not indicate a timeline for the completion of works at the facility, he said the project is under way.

Speaking to members of the media on Monday following the launch of five short courses by the Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) at the MIC-IT Building on Clarke Road, Penal, Persad said the emphasis was on ensuring the project is completed.
