PRIME Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has denied that the Government intended to move The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Law Faculty to the university’s Debe Campus upon its projected opening this year, stating that discussions were still being held on what faculties would be stationed there.
The Prime Minister on Monday toured the multimillion-dollar campus, which was first conceptualised under her leadership of the former People’s Partnership government, but which has for the past decade remained unopened. Speaking after the tour, Persad-Bissessar referred to what she said was erroneous newspaper reporting that the Law Faculty would be relocated.
She said this was not the case, as the Government intended to facilitate parallel work across both campuses.
