Quick police response led to the arrest of a robbery suspect mere minutes after a woman was held up at knifepoint on Lower High Street last night.
Around 9:20 p.m. a 38-year-old woman of Cap-de-Ville Main Road, Point Fortin, was walking along Lower High Street near Yufe’s Fabric Store when she was confronted by a knife-wielding man. The suspect allegedly pointed the weapon at her and demanded her belongings before grabbing her handbag and fleeing the scene on foot.
As the suspect attempted to escape, the handbag fell to the ground.
