More than a dozen residents of Salazar Trace in Point Fortin came out in defence of their community against crime and apprehended two suspected robbers on Saturday.
The two suspects, both aged 24 of Fyzabad, were pursued and detained by residents, then handed over to the police.
Police were told that the victim raised an alarm after he saw two men steal a chainsaw that was stored beneath his house. The victim called out to his neighbours and several of them chased the suspects as they attempted to escape through the bushes near the house.
