A FORMER special Reserve Police officer was shot and killed in Curepe early this morning during an attempted robbery.
Police said that around 2 a.m. Arkim Baker, 37 of Quarry Road, San Juan was on duty at Bobby’s Bar, Curepe where he worked as an armed security officer when a car with a group of men stopped outside the bar located off the Southern Main Road. Several men got out including one armed with a gun.
According to police, the men were attempting to rob the bar when Baker drew a pistol. The armed bandit on seeing this, opened fire on Barker hitting him multiple times killing him on the spot. The bandits then ran out without taking anything and escaped.
