A for­mer spe­cial re­serve po­lice (SRP) of­fi­cer was shot and killed ear­ly this morn­ing.

He has been iden­ti­fied as Arkim Bak­er.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Bak­er was at a pop­u­lar bar on South­ern Main Road, Curepe, around 2 a.m. when a gun­man ap­proached him, drew a firearm, and opened fire. Bak­er was struck, col­lapsed to the ground, and died at the scene.
