Former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley says the United States midterm election results represent not merely a rejection of President Donald Trump, but an even stronger repudiation of those who enabled his administration’s policies.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Rowley launched an attack on Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her United National Congress (UNC) Government over their close alignment with the Trump administration, accusing them of compromising Trinidad and Tobago’s foreign policy, sovereignty and long-standing diplomatic principles.
“What happened in America (Tuesday) represents not just a rejection of a leader but more so the enablers who facilitate the destructive reign. This is the lesson for the people of Trinidad and Tobago who I hope, see how much we have copied in the recent past and decide how much more we will tolerate and be silent on,” Rowley stated.
