Former prime minister Dr Keith Rowley has rebuked Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar for backing US President Donald Trump, saying her Government “lit a match in the Caribbean” and lambasted her for pursuing the “most reckless” foreign policy.
Rowley also aim at the Trump administration for what he described as “hatching the latest tension” with the deployment of military assets off the coast of Venezuela under the “guise” of fighting drugs and crime.
Rowley dissected the media release issued by Persad-Bissessar on Saturday, insisting it was less about crime-fighting or defending sovereignty and more about signalling that T&T has chosen to side with the US.
