Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has launched a stinging rebuke of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LATT), describing it as a “defiled and discredited” organisation and that she has no regard for its criticisms of the process used to appoint Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh.
The LATT issued a media release yesterday extending its congratulations to the newly appointed Chief Justice while, at the same time, voicing unease over what it described as the “hastened and truncated” process that led to his elevation.
When contacted for comment on the LATT release, the Prime Minister minced no words in ripping the body apart and aligning the entity with the Opposition People’s National Movement (PNM).
