THE APPEAL Court has ordered the immediate release of business couple Dominic and Genevieve Hadeed from prison, ruling that they should instead remain under strict house arrest while their legal challenge to their Preventive Detention Orders (PDOs) proceeds.

In a judgment delivered on Thursday, Justices of Appeal Peter Rajkumar, Mira Dean-Armorer and Joan Charles overturned an earlier High Court decision that refused the couple interim relief.

The judges held that while national security concerns deserve respect, they do not place the Executive beyond judicial scrutiny.
