(Kaieteur News) A Police Sergeant attached to the Licensing and Certifying Office at the Springlands Police Station has been placed under close arrest as the Guyana Police Force (GPF) investigates alleged irregularities in the office’s operations.
Ranks from the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) visited the office on Thursday, where they secured records and other documentation for examination as part of the widening probe.
“Investigators are conducting a comprehensive examination of the operations of the office, including relevant records and transactions, as part of the ongoing investigation,” the GPF said. The Force reaffirmed its commitment to rooting out corruption within its ranks.
