(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating the discharge of a loaded firearm near the Office of the President, Georgetown, on Friday evening.
In a statement on Saturday, police said the incident occurred at approximately 21:15hrs on 21st August, 2026.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that a police rank on duty at the location reported hearing what sounded like a gunshot coming from the direction of the Square of the Revolution,” the statement said.
