A Chaguanas woman was shot on Monday morning while attempting to buy a Toyota advertised for sale on Facebook, police confirmed.

The 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old friend traveled from Chaguanas to Upper Sixth Avenue, Malick, around 11 a.m. to meet the seller, who identified himself as a “businessman,” for the $9,000 vehicle.

Upon arrival, the buyers discovered the meeting point was a dead-end road. While deciding what to do next, they reported seeing a man approaching them with a firearm.
