Soca artiste Neil âIwerâ George has endorsed the United National Congress (UNC) and Kamla Persad-Bissessar as prime minister.
George made a surprise appearance at the UNCâs public meeting at the La Joya Complex, St Joseph, on Tuesday night, arriving on stage with a bouquet of flowers to serenade Persad-Bissessar, who celebrated her 73rd birthday with her political family.
George sang âHappy Birthdayâ and said he had two gifts for Persad-Bissessarâthe flowers, and then, dramatically, he removed his jacket to reveal a UNC T-shirt he was wearing underneath.
