Police are investigating a robbery in Preysal in which a knapsack containing $200,000 in cash was snatched parked vehicle.
The 52-year-old victim had parked his white Kia Sportage along Gran Couva Main Road near Preysal Secondary School on Wednesday around 4 p.m to buy roadside doubles. He left the cash in a grey and blue knapsack in the trunk while making the purchase.
The victim reportedly saw a man open the trunk and take the bag. He gave chase, but the suspect threw the knapsack into a silver Toyota Aqua waiting nearby, which then sped off along the Solomon Hochoy Highway. The suspect continued on foot, disappearing into nearby bushes.
