A DIEGO Martin man was found not guilty on Wednesday of shooting to death another man in 2009.
The reason given by Justice Trevor Jones for allowing the former accused—Sylvan “Split Peas” Thomas—to walk free after 16 years in prison was of a lack of evidence presented by the prosecution.
This was mainly due to the failure by investigators to carry out enquiries into an alibi by Thomas that at the time of the killing, he was at work, stated the judge.
