McDonald Bailey, who was acquitted earlier this year after spending more than two decades in prison on a murder charge, was shot and killed on Saturday morning in the Blue Basin area of River Estate, Diego Martin.
Bailey, who was freed in January 2025 after a High Court ruled there was no evidence to sustain a conviction in the 2003 murder of 19-year-old Meshach Samuel, was reportedly gunned down just streets away from the location where the original killing took place.
He had been released alongside co-accused Keon Anthony after Justice Maria Busby Earle-Caddle upheld a no-case submission during their third trial, directing the jury to return not guilty verdicts.
