Several illegal firearms were recovered and five men arrested during anti-crime exercises across Point Fortin, Guapo, and Siparia between Friday and Saturday.
According to a media release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the operations targeted priority offenders and included mobile patrols, search exercises, and the execution of multiple warrants.
Around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, officers on patrol in Fanny Village stopped a dark green Nissan X-Trail along Sunset Beach Road. Inside the vehicle, they found a black Smith & Wesson M&P .40 calibre pistol, a magazine, and three rounds of ammunition. The 34-year-old driver, a contractor from ‘E’ Street Extension, Fanny Village, admitted he had no Firearm User’s Licence and was arrested.
