Police seized two homemade shotguns, recovered stolen cash, and arrested several suspects in a series of anti-crime operations across Trinidad between Friday and Sunday.
In a statement issued yesterday the TTPS said, in the Southern Division, officers seized a homemade shotgun following a confrontation between two neighbours in New Grant. Police said the victim, an unemployed man from Naparima–Mayaro Road, was picking mangoes behind his home when he was approached by a man known to him. The man allegedly issued threats, left the area, and returned shortly after armed with a firearm.
A struggle reportedly ensued, during which the victim disarmed the suspect, who then fled the scene. Officers responded promptly and took possession of the weapon. Investigations are ongoing.
