THE Presidentâs speech at yesterdayâs ceremonial opening of the 13th Parliament was a âvery balanced and measured speechâ, says Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Speaking to the media at the Red House following the opening of Parliament, Persad-Bissessar said: âAt times I felt that she might have been reading our manifesto, because the points that we have been pressingâthey were all echoed by her: the fight against crime, the economy, the AI, and all the others; about five areas that she touched; so, pushing through an open door, I will say.â
She said Kangalooâs appeal for health and safety measures with respect to road use was a âgood thing to doâ.
