THE United National Congress Government has come in for both praise and criticism over decisions taken during its first 100 days. Here are a few of the controversial moves:
State of Whitehall
Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Barry Padarath spoke of the “unfit for use” condition of Whitehall on his first day in office. He siad it was infested with mould and structurally damaged. As a result, the Cabinet Secretariat was relocated, and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar now operates from her private residence in South Trinidad. When questioned by the media, she said she was able to work from “various locations in Trinidad and Tobago”.
