The manager of a cable-access television station has reported that he was kidnapped, beaten and robbed after gunmen forced him out of traffic along the Beetham Highway on Monday afternoon.
The man told Besson Street police that around 4.30 p.m. he was driving his new Honda Vezel along the eastbound lane of the highway during heavy rush-hour traffic when, near the Sea Lots pedestrian walkover, a gunman suddenly entered the front passenger seat of his vehicle.
The suspect allegedly ordered him to turn off the highway onto Abattoir Road and then proceed to La Penca Drive, Laventille.
