The lifeless body of 33-year-old Satayanand Persaud, a businessman of Industry, East Coast Demerara and of Affiance, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), was on Tuesday found dead in his parked motor car along the Ogle Road with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Reports are that relatives attempted to make contact with the businessman, who is the son of a popular Essequibo Coast pandit, to no avail. They subsequently launched a search, during which his motor car was found parked along the Ogle Road with the engine running.
Upon checking inside, Persaud’s motionless body was found lying in the driver’s seat with an apparent gunshot wound to his chest. A firearm was also found inside the vehicle. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
