Police are investigating the theft of $230,000 that was hidden beneath the mattress in the home of a teacher in New Grant.
On the second day of the new school term, the teacher returned home around 12.30 p.m. and discovered her house was ransacked.
She contacted the Tableland police station whose officers found that the burglarproofing on a window was pried open and the window was unlocked.
