A policeman on Wednesday night confessed to fatally shooting his Cuban national girlfriend, who had gone missing a week ago and dumping her body in a clump of bush on the East Coast of Demerara.
Based on reports, 26-year-old Dailen Paneque GĂłmez had left her Lot 92 Mon Repos North, East Coast Demerara, home on Thursday last to head to work at the Enmore Regional Hospital, where she was employed as a cleaner.
“Paneque Gómez was reported missing after she was last seen during the early morning hours of Thursday June 18, 2026, while reportedly on her way to work,” the GPF said in a statement on Wednesday evening.
