(Kaieteur News) – A Cuban woman and two of her countrymen were on Tuesday remanded to prison for allegedly robbing and murdering her lover at Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD), on 22nd July.
The dead man has been identified as 20-year-old Cuban national Yudivian Cardenas Amador Almagro, whose disappearance was reported by relatives on 23rd July. His decomposed remains were discovered around 11:15hrs on 27th July at the abandoned old Diamond Market area, located next to the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) compound. Police believe he was stabbed to death.
Following investigations, police arrested three Cuban nationals of Timehri, East Bank Demerara- 26-year-old barber Alejandro Igalza Rios, called “Papote”; 29-year-old construction worker Juan Pablo Ferrer; and 24-year-old labourer Mairely Felicita Medinas Alvarez.
