POLICE have detained three men, including a soldier, following a reported home invasion at a residence in Cumaca Village, Valencia, in which a 21-year-old man was assaulted.
According to police reports, around 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday, the victim, a resident of Hilltop Road, was asleep at his home when he was awakened by several men, some of whom he recognised. The suspects then proceeded to beat him. During the incident, the victim managed to escape from the house and run from the premises. The police were notified.
Acting on the information received, police officers initiated a coordinated operation in the Valencia district. While proceeding along Cumaca Road, officers received further information and intercepted a grey Nissan Wingroad wagon with three male occupants. The three men, aged 24, 31 and 24, all from the Arima area, were informed of the report, arrested, and cautioned. One of the men is a private attached to Camp Ogden. The suspects were escorted to the Valencia Police Post pending further enquiries.
