The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has completed works to replace 70 metres of sewer pipeline along Sutton Street, between Prince of Wales and Prince Albert Streets in San Fernando.
The upgrade, which began on September 5, directly benefits about 200 residents and resolves a public health concern caused by an overflowing manhole.
WASA identified the issue on August 16 during a community tour by its Executive Evolution Team and Dr the Honourable Michael Dowlath, MP for San Fernando West and Minister of Education. Acting CEO Jeevan Joseph then committed to completing repairs before the start of the 2025–2026 academic year.
