Iranâs Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed Saturday in a sweeping Israeli strike carried out as part of a joint U.S.âIsrael military operation, according to Israeli and American officials.
An Israeli official said Khameneiâs body was recovered from the ruins of his leadership compound in Tehran following precision strikes that targeted what Israel described as the core of Iranâs political and military command structure.
U.S. President Donald Trump told NBC News that âwe feel certainâ Khamenei is dead, adding that âmostâ of Iranâs senior leadership had also been eliminated.
