United States PresiÂdent Donald Trump said yesterday that the US would âavengeâ the deaths of three service members and âthere will likely be moreâ killed before the conflict with Iran ends.
The three deaths marked the first known American casualties since US and Israeli forÂces launched a major military operation against Iran that has only intensified since killing Iranâs supreme leader on Saturday.
The president made the comments in a roughly six-minute video he posted on social media yesterday afternoon. Hours earlier, he signalled he was open to dialogue with Iranâs new leadership.
