Christopher Banfield, the man accused of beating his 75-year-old father to death at the family home in Flanagin Town, appeared before a master in the High Court on June 23.
Master Whitney Franklin, in the North Court C, denied bail and ordered that the accused undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the St Ann's Psychiatric Hospital.
The case was adjourned to July 8.
