THE continued absence of a fire station in San Juan has become a growing concern for businesses and residents, prompting the San Juan Business Association (SJBA) to call on member of Parliament for the area (Barataria/San Juan) Saddam Hosein for urgent action.
The association said the community has been without a fire station for more than a year and is prepared to finance the construction of a new facility once land is made available by the Government.
Speaking during a news conference yesterday at the Himalaya Club in Barataria, SJBA president Abrahim Ali said several issues affecting the district required immediate attention from the relevant authorities, including security concerns, traffic congestion, flooding, rodent infestation, and an increasing number of displaced persons in public spaces.
