A fire on the weekend, which claimed the home of a Buen Intento family, has ignited calls for the Princes Town Fire Station to be reopened.
The Evergreen Avenue, Hillside Gardens home-owner, who did not wish to be named, said he was on his way to a function with his wife and 15-year-old son around 4 pm on May 18, when the fire broke out. He said they were already on their way out when his wife returned upstairs for medication.
"She called out to me and I went back up and tried to bring it (the flames) under control. But I couldn't, so at that point it was just to secure them and get out."
