Maracas student dies from gunshot wound to head

A 19-year-old student died at the Port of Spain General Hospital on Tuesday night after suffering a gunshot wound to the head at his Maracas Bay home.
The deceased was identified as Demetri Pierre of Old Bay Road, Maracas Bay.
Police said the incident was reported around 7.53 pm on Tuesday. Officers met Pierre’s father, who requested a police escort to take his son to hospital.
