Dr Keith Rowley will end his ten-year tenure as Prime Minister after Carnival on March 16, 2025.
Rowley announced his resignation date yesterday at a ceremony to rename and commission the D’Abadie/O’Meara Road as the Lisa Morris-Julian Boulevard, in honour of the late MP who tragically died in a fire with two of her children in December 2024.
Energy Minister Stuart Young, who was present at the ceremony, will become the nation’s prime minister upon Rowley’s departure and will be responsible for calling the general election, which is constitutionally due this year.
