The Ministry of Public Utilities says it is taking action to address a rodent infestation at the ministry's head office.
In a release Wednesday, the Ministry said it wished to respond "to reports being circulated on social media about a rodent infestation at its 1 Alexandra Street, St Clair, Port of Spain Head Office by stating that it has taken proactive steps to curtail the potential threat of said infestation.
"The issue was first identified in January, and since then the Health and Safety Department of the Ministry has engaged the services of the Rodent Control Unit of the Port of Spain City Corporation on at least two occasions. This Unit has instituted preventive measures by distributing packets of rodenticides throughout the building," the release stated.
