The Police Service is confirming the discovery and seizure of a quantity of ammunition and military-style clothing during an anti-crime exercise carried out in several locations in Central Trinidad.
A statement from the TTPS reports that during the exercise, officers obtained information that led them to search an abandoned lot of land located to the north of a residence in Charlieville. At that location, the officers found and seized a multi-coloured bag concealed under a burnt-out metal barrel.
The bag contained a quantity of assorted ammunition; three black hats bearing what appeared to be police insignia; and one camouflage uniform resembling that used by the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
