Beyond the crown Miss 30+ queen on mission to inspire young people

Becoming the first Miss 30+ Jamaica winner was never meant to be the end goal for Constable Sheneka Burke. Instead, the crown has given the St Andrew South police officer a platform to pursue what she considers a more meaningful mission, inspiring young people to recognise their potential and believe they can become more.

Burke, who was crowned the inaugural Miss 30+ Jamaica at The Summit last Sunday, plans to use her pageant platform to advance her ‘Pathways to Purpose’, an initiative targeting young people between the ages of 13 and 18.

The programme seeks to help participants identify their strengths, build confidence, explore their possibilities, and pursue lives beyond the limitations they or others may have placed on them.
