A security officer suffered a gruesome injury after confronting an alleged thief at a service station Tuesday night.
Kevin John, 50, employed with Overwatch Security Services, was on duty at the Unipet Service Station on Lady Hailes Avenue around 10:05 p.m. when a man allegedly tried to steal two Magnum wine drinks. During the ensuing struggle, the suspect bit off part of John’s left little finger.
Police apprehended a 42-year-old of Royal Road, San Fernando. The guard was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for medical attention.
