Eight per­sons were ar­rest­ed dur­ing a co­or­di­nat­ed po­lice op­er­a­tion in Ma­yaro on Wednes­day. The ex­er­cise was part of the on­go­ing Sum­mer Slam Op­er­a­tions un­der the State of Emer­gency Reg­u­la­tions 2025.

Be­tween 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., of­fi­cers of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice con­duct­ed mul­ti­ple raids and search­es in the dis­trict. The joint op­er­a­tion in­volved per­son­nel from the Ma­yaro Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment, the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force, and the TTPS Ca­nine Unit.

The op­er­a­tion was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr. Supt. Pa­ponette and su­per­vised by In­sp. Ma­habir and Sgt. Mo­hammed. Of­fi­cers from var­i­ous sup­port­ing units were al­so de­ployed.
