Two labour candidates are expected to contest the constituencies of La Brea and Point Fortin under a United National Congress (UNC) ticket in the 2025 general election.
Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU) president general Ancel Roget will present the two labour candidates to the media today at 5 p.m. before they appear before the UNC’s screening committee headed by Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar at the party’s Chaguanas headquarters.
This follows Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s statement on Monday that the UNC would be fielding two candidates with the OWTU, one of its partners in a “coalition of interest” announced last week.
