A man who was chopped on his head and hand by a close male relative, was warded at hospital in a serious condition.
The 31-year-old of Tabaquite was in the yard of his home around 6.30 p.m. on Monday when there was an altercation with a 40-year-old relative. The relative retrieved a cutlass and struck the victim several times before fleeing. He was subsequently arrested.
The victim was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility and transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in a stable but serious condition. He sustained a five centimetre laceration to the left side of his forehead with skull fracture, and an eight centimetre laceration to his right hand.
