A 40-year sentence was yesterday imposed on an ex-soldier who was found guilty of kidnapping and sexually penetrating two boys ages 12 and 14 years.
The incidents happened in 2017 and 2019 before Sterlyn Figaro was discharged from the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment in April 2021.
A jury found Figaro, 48, guilty last May, following a trial before Justice Gail Gonzales at the Port of Spain High Court. The judge conducted the sentencing yesterday.
