Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter a re­tired po­lice­man opened fire on three men he be­lieved were ban­dits at his Bon Air West home ear­ly Sun­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the 64-year-old man was asleep at around 2 am when he heard a noise out­side and went to in­ves­ti­gate.

From his up­stairs ve­ran­da, he saw three men stand­ing near a car parked on the street, which be­longed to his daugh­ter’s friend.
